Should I get a new PSU?

OfficialJsP
Go to solution Solved by don_svetlio,

It uses cheap chinese capacitors, the build quality is quite mediocre and sub-par from CWT and when it reaches 30*C it turns into a 500W unit more or less - protections sometimes fail and it has killed components. 3 years is the expected life of a such a unit. If yours has signs of issues replace.

So I don't really know that much about power supplies and I have the Corsair CX750M I know most people don't recommend them but I would like to know why and should I get a new PSU?

I would also like to note that i have had this PSU for around 2-3 years.

This is why:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1431436/why-you-should-not-buy-a-corsair-cx

The whole problem with those areguments is, that there are so many sold CX PSUs and almost no problems with it. A lot of people use them and almost everyone that used one tells me it worked. And because we have such a huge amount of samples to look at the CX PSU seems to be just as safe as any other PSU.

Thank you for a good quality post, rather than bashing the CX. To the CX bashers, it could have been a dioblowup unit..
