PC Case Airflow help!

Go to solution Solved by Nexxus,

Don't see a point then in taking rad of then, I could just flip fans. Here is a picture of my setup!

yes just do that, the way it was on my system the fans were against the case, and then rad in under the fans (thats how you would want it for intake cause the fans are RIGHT against the source of air it needs to "feed" from the way youi currently have it isnt the greatest for intake airflow.

But yes just turn your fans around the other way and you are golden...also look for dust against the rad/take a chance to blast the rad fins with air when you got the fans off.

Hello everyone again... :)

I have the NZXT H440 and was wonder is my airflow pointing the right way for the best optimization, I'm unsure what way the fans are blowing, but the arrows represent the way the fan stickers are pointing towards.

Sorry about the bad annotations and also all the questions (more to come xD)

I have an H440 too. I have 2 fans at the top but they push air out. I have them running at a lower RPM so I have more intake than exhaust.

umm need a bit more info then that... are you using an AIO CPU cooler or air? and the direction the arrows are pointing is the direction the sticker is facing? not the air flow of the fan...?

Yes the way the arrows are pointing is the way the stickers on the fan are pointing, also the top fans are my watercooling fans (Corsair H105).

Thanks :)

Not to mention you are probably suffocating things its going to be easier to push tair out of the h440s top vents then drag air in...I also run blower cards so most of the air thats going though my rad isnt hot air.

It's my water cooler fans...

so? you can still exhaust out the top, thats what I would do, cool are comes in, and gets pushed through the rad by the fans cooling it down, and stopping dust getting into the rad fins

you could even intake from the back if you like too, though it might help to just keep it as exhaust and get rid of any warm air from the GPU in the case although the rear outtake should take care of that

you could try intake from the bottom, but depends how warm your PSU gets and if its on a dusty surface

Hey, thanks for the advice. By putting it on "exhaust" does that mean flipping the water cooler? Sorry not good with fans in general!

No cause your rad hoses are going to be screwy.

Do it properly unmount the entire thing, put the rad against the case and then the fans on the underside of the rad. at least thats how I had to do it in the h100i

A friend might be helpful cause I found it a pain in the dick to line everything up

Thanks, So flips the radiator + the fans or just flip the fans or do you mean for the fans to be on the opposite side of the rad (currently rad is on the top of case and fans are visible, with the sticker also visible)?

Fan's are the only pc component I never paid much attention too, so not that great :D

dont flip anything

step 1 unmount the rads and the fans

step 2 (if needed) take the fans off the rad

step 3 mount rad on top of case

step 4 mount fans on underside of rad making sure air is pushing out (ok you will have to flip the fans over...)

Even spinning the fan by hand you should be able to tell which way its gonna push air if you put your hand infront of the blades

How do you know which way the fan spin?

The direction its pushing air just feels...more "pushy" you can feel the air being pushed into your palm

How do you know which way the fan spin?

Most fan as an arrow on it to tell you which way the air is blowing.
