Toshiba Satellite

What came with my Toshiba Satellite was a recovery CD that came in the box... I used that to restore mine to factory settings. Run from DVD drive in the BIOS settings and just go through what it asks you to.

Depends on whether there is a restore partition or not. If the laptop came with  a restore partition, you can press a certain 'key' while booting to restore to default. The restore process if any good will offer to keep user files intact and full restore.

If there is no restore partition, see if it came with restore discs, but before that, get the HDD out and save your data and restore.
