“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

Are you listening from your PC's onboard audio solution? That would explain the static. It's from EMI from other motherboard components, PSU, GPU, and other parts.

Intel Core i7-6700K | Corsair H105 | Asus Z170I PRO GAMING | G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB | 950 PRO 512GB M.2

Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX OC | BitFenix Prodigy (Black/Red) | XFX PRO Black Edition 850W

My BuildPCPartPicker | CoC

Sensitive in-ears will easily reveal the noise floor of your source. You'll need a dedicated DAC and amp for these.

If only i can get mayflower odacs in singapore... :'(

The ODAC you can't really do much yourself.  You can buy the pre-assembled board, then you can only solder in RCA jacks and get your own enclosure.  IMHO not worth it as a DIY project.

The O2 headphone amp is something you can build.  The only proprietary thing you need to buy is the PCB board or whatever it's called, which sells for $7 or so.  Then there's a list of transistors and whatnot you need to actually build it.  The kit sells for about $60, I don't think you would save much money buying parts individually.  Could be wrong.

Generally, you'll be spending pretty much the same amount of money, unless you're able to build an enclosure for essentially free, out of scrap materials. Also, you can make your own pcb with toner transfer on a blank pcb if you really, really want to. Might even be able to use proto board.

As for the ODAC, I think it depends on whether or not you have access to an smd station (for instance, I do have access to a hot air soldering station, so I could very easily build my own odac, although, due to economies of scale, it would probably cost me more than buying one.

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)

The hiss only happens when im out of listening any music, but if i nonetheless actually need a dac, lemme know,i got a custom one pro headphones which dont need a dac... as much,so if its a worthy investment then sure

You could dig into the Windows audio settings and change things like PCM sample rate (it will have optins like 44.1kHz, 48.0, and 96.0) or default formats (it will say things like CD Quality or DVD Quality).  Make sure under Enhancements to check the "Disable all sound effects" box.
