Exactly what the error message says, looks like its corrupted or for some reason the permissions have changed.

If you go to C:\Users\Redjo1537 do you see a "desktop" folder?

If not, I hope you have backups.

So I had the same error a while back.

I didn't have to resort to a backup.

Open Command Prompt as Admin

chkdsk c: /f

This should correct the issue if it can if not, backups man.

corrected syntax

If you right click the desktop folder and then hit "Properties".  Click "Security" on the new window that opens up, can you post a screenshot of what is listed in the Security tab?

*snip*

1. You'll need to run the command prompt as Admin for chkdsk to work.

2. Your permissions look correct (If you click on your user account in the security tab, just make sure that it has "Full Control" ticked in "Permissions", if not, tick it)

It may be a corrupted HDD so I'd suggest after checking your user permissions (Step 2) definitely run the chkdsk /f C: and see if that does it.

Also, if you haven't already, reboot the computer and see if that resolves it.

Hit Y and give the machine a restart.  When it boots up it'll start running the chkdsk before you get to windows (Don't cancel it! Let it run)

Hit Y, and on next restart it will check the disk. Please don't unplug or power off your PC when this is going.

Now make sure to take a backup if you aren't already doing so in case the drive does indeed die on you!
