I recently got a new msi 970, Plugged it in ,surprise didn't work. I thought it was my motherboard bios, so i updated it still nothing. Then my friend pluged it into his pc and it worked!!! then I went  back to my house pluged in everything stilll whyyyyyy!?!?! So im hoping you guys the best community in the whole pc community can figure this crap out. Just an fyi I know for a fact that I have pluged into everything correctly and i have the right amount of power supply and all the right components also. right now im running on my crap gtx 750. Thank you for everything, Ill be here all  night ask anything you want no question is a dumb question, Thanks love you guys.

Did you disable the igpu, as that can cause issues until you install nvidia drivers, or is this an old build with a new gpu?

Did you try a different pci slot?

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

If it a modular power supply is the cable plugged into the PSU? If it has any LEDs do they come on? Are you plugging the monitor into the GPU?

yes its  pluged straight into the PSU,Yes LEDs do come on, and yes i am pluged from the card to the monitor.

If you're going into the devise manager then that means it works enough for windows right? So it doesn't work in games? When does it fail?

No, I get into it by using my motherboard graphics, Its never worked.

go to your bios and deactivate onboard graphics processor.

pop back into windows and the cards should get detected and drivers will install.
