vga to usb adapter?

my mom's laptop's usb ports got fried for some reason... and now she can't connect anything through usb. and the onboard mouse doesn't work. so right now she is using the numpad as an extremely slow mouse alternative. my question is this.
can I connect a usb post or a single usb option through the vga connector?

is there such a thing.?

can a pc repair shop do that? or do I need to buy a new mobo...

Think of it this way, you're trying to change an analog video signal to a digital data connection.

Is is possible as long as it's just the ports and not the chipset that controls the ports. Whether or not it's worth it, you'll have to find out because that would require someone to de-solder the old ports and re-solder new ones.
