New Samsung smart flip-phone leaks

Nineshadow

I still believe, that the days of the old flip phones & stuff like that gonna come back...

Miss the days of my Nokia 6300 [emoji17]

One more japan phone from korean -_-

Flip phones have still been around outside the West. I lived Korea 2013-14 and it wasn't weird to see a people with flip phones (inc. young ppl). Some were full blown 'dumb' flip phones but most were phones with at least basic smart features. This def has a decent sized market out there.

Unfortunately the market isn't in the US so I doubt Samsung (if they release it) will sell it outside Asia.

It will be China or Korea only. And more expensive than the S6 off contract. The W series are the flagship phones folded in half and priced high. I remember when the W2013 appeared on the market in 2012 it was around 3000 USD. Then the W2014 was still over 1500 USD. The W2015 had a price tag over 2500 USD anno. So this won't be your average budget flip as the Wine is.

ps.: former W2013 user... ;)

Wow that sure looks hell of a lot like an iPhone.

  • Rounded corners.
  • Black color.
  • Colorful icons in a grid array.
  • Flash right next to the camera.
  • Power button on the side.
  • Front is mostly covered by the screen.
  • The front camera is front facing.
  • It has pinch to zoom.
  • The volume rocker is on the side of the device.
  • The speaker is in the lower corner on the back.
  • The unmistakably Apple-gray aluminum color.
  • Antenna band on the side.

How can Samsung get away with such blatant copying? It would be nice to see a phone that isn't just ripping the iPhone off for once.
/sarcasm
(fun fact, these are all more or less things people have actually used as arguments for why Samsung has copied Apple with their other phones).

Pretty fun to see a fairly high end smartphone in a flip-phone form factor again. The SoC is the same as the Galaxy S6 and Note 5.
