Which keyswitch?

Ling

Hey, so I'm thinking of buying a Corsair Gaming STRAFE RGB keyboard, but I'm not sure which type of keyswitch to get. They come in CherryMX Red, Brown and Silent. I plan to use this keyboard for writing assignments and FPS gaming. Based on what I've heard from around the net, this instantly leads to the choice of CherryMX Brown, but I also read that a lot of people find the tactile feedback they give as annoying. Can anyone with experience in this field please help me decide? This is my first mechanical keyboard and likely the one I will own for many many years to come, so I want to ensure I make a well-informed decision.

Cheers,

TeRaByTeFrEnZy (my first thread!)

Personally I like browns as they are a good middle ground, jack of all trades

Typing: Blue, Brown

Gaming: Red, Brown

Web browsing: Brown

There are more, but those are the basics.

Blue: Noisy, Tactile

Brown: Less noisy, Less tactile

Red: Very quiet, Almost no tactile response feel

if you're doing typing as well, then go browns, they're the best middle ground IMO. I use blues, but if I was to get a new keyboard I'd look no further than browns due to being a bit quieter.

Thank you for the quick responses! But what is your stance on people's complaints about the tactile bump. Do many people find it annoying? Do you? Why/why not?

the silent are a little more silent than the brown and thay are considerably new to the market, and that would be my go. the mx brown are ok (k95 experience), but imo, if you like the clicky sounds that they make, go for the reds, or wait for a mx blue(even more clicky) variation that it is rummored that will be available for the strafe later on.

I don't really intend on getting Blues as the loud noise is not practical for my situation.
