Is my setup good for new games?

kirksman101

my setup is     CPU: AMD FX 8320        Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-D3P       RAM: 16G            Video card:   ASUS GTX 750 TI  power supply: Thermaltake 600W.   I wanted to know if this setup is good for playing GTA V, titanfall, Spin tires, and other games that are demanding like GTA V and be able to run on high settings and be around 60 fps. also I wanted to know if theres a difference between graphics cards such as the EVGA GTX 960 and the ASUS STRIX GTX 960?

the 750 ti is significantly weaker than a gtx 960. Also if you're thinking about a 960, consider the R9380 4gb. It will perform 5-10% better than a 960 in a lot of games.

High settings? no. Medium/high? probably.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

but which r9 380? the ASUS, the radeon, or the sapphire? also is it AMD because I don't care to use amd or nivdia. I'm just very confused to which gpu I should get. also what's the difference if there is any between the ASUS, the Radeon or the Sapphire?

The differences are the cooling and the base/turbo clock speeds.

Well between those 960's, it depends on which EVGA you are looking at.

Most people like the 380 better though. Just look for benchmarks and video reviews.

I would upgrade the CPU to  a FX-8350 and upgrade to the 960. The 960 is a very good card for the money and you can also get more out of the 960 with the FX-8350 than the 8320

I would like a Nvidia video card. but want I'm trying to ask is, what video card ( such as the GTX 960) would have around 60 fps with the games I listed above? and what company I should get it from ( such as ASUS, EVGA, etc)? also what CPU would get the most out of the video card.

I would upgrade the CPU to  a FX-8350 and upgrade to the 960. The 960 is a very good card for the money and you can also get more out of the 960 with the FX-8350 than the 8320

which company should I get the GTX 960 from? should I get it from ASUS, EVGA, etc.

I think I might just gonna go with the MSI GTX 960 4gb or the EVGA GTX 960 SSC 4gb. let me know if going with one of these is a very bad idea.

That is a good setup for CS:GO and TF2 and perhaps Insurgency. You need a better graphics card at least an AMD 7950 or a Nvidia 760 or 770 or better. I list older cards because you have a junker AMD CPU.

neither - the 960 4GB cards are crap since the 128-bit bus bottlenecks like no tomorrow - 960 is about 10-15% slower than a R9 380 and can barely get you 60 fps on medium-high - R9 380 will likely do high 60 fps without any issue and even ultra 60 fps in most games.

AMD cards aren't bombs - they are simple Graphics Accelerators - no sense in wasting 15% power for the sake of a green sticker...

Sapphire 380 Nitro is the best 380 available and better than any 960 even when overclocked.

(btw your not trolling me are you??) I just looked up a vid of the sapphire 380 nitro running GTA V and BF4 and they were around 60 and 40 fps, but the MSI GTX 960 was around 70 and 80 fps. (the MSI GTX 960 fps was from gta v but not for BF4.)
