will be used for gaming at 1080p, for now.

I think the 390 should do the job for a couple of years or should I save up for a 390x/ 980? I expect to use this system for the next 3 years minimum

Currently at 8gb and no problems. I will buy 8gb first and then upgrade down the road but I do think 8gb ram will be a bit of a bottlenect for triple A titles. Also yolo

 

Edit: a friend got a gaming pc built by an IT employee. 750ti, i5, 16gb ram, oem case, ssd. How can people work in IT with such knowledge

looking at it off the bat it seems fine but AMD meh, just get a 950 ti = power

the 390>970 in most dx11 titles, has more vram for the future. dx12 looks even more promising
