Oculus Rift DK1or2?

So me and my mate are looking to get a Oculus rift, but wanted to know if that it was worth getting the DK2, for example are certain programs not backwards compatible with the DK1? and is it worth the extra money for the DK2. I know theres differences between the 720 sceen on the DK1 and the 1080 on the DK2, is it really that noticeable. Also we won't have any problems running the Oculus. Have you guys tried any of them? We would be getting it used off ebay.

DK2. The DK1 looks like complete crap compared to the DK2, and the lack of lean-controls makes you feel sick more often than DK2. 

 

EDIT: Bear in mind the DK2 doesn't look great with its 1080p screen, it's really not enough for a crisp image when your eyes are right next to the display. I'd say we're going to have to get to 4K to have a nice, crisp image on the rift. The experience is still good though.

Well, we wouldnt be able to affor te DK3 at launch but there would be people selling their DK2s

yeah but price would drop for the dk2

Just wait for the finished product. Then you have a warranty and tech support. Otherwise since it is a Development kit they say here you go if it doesn't work make it work you are a developer

Like SamStrecker said, you'd better off waiting for the final product. The Oculus Rift in its current form is not intended to be in the hands of the general consumer. Yes it look awesome, but the final product will be even better, so if you buy the DK2 right now, you'll essentially have a paper weight that has less features than the released version next year.
