Dear friends,

I am in urgent need of help. I have just built my very first PC, and when I power it, everything seems to function well.

Yes, the CPU 4 pin power cable is connected, aswell as the 24pin one.

I am having problems with my display: there is no signal. (using HDMI ports, dont have other cables)

In addition to this, if i want to shut down the pc, i need to force shut it down.

The pc is literally new, there is no OS.

this is the build:

FX 8350
MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard
MSI R9 390 graphics card
16gb 1600 ddr3 gskill
750w psu
1tb hdd Wester digital

PLEASE HELP

You are aware that the 970 Gaming Motherboard needs an 8pin CPU connector not a 4pin right? I don't know if that was a typo or if you actually just plugged in a 4pin to the 8.\

Also, would recommend trying a different PCI-E slot, maybe you have a dead one? Also, did you flip the switch on the back of the PSU?

Sorry didn't read very well long day at work and my brain is nearly mush xD

Yes I'm aware, it was indeed a typo. I will try a new PCI-E slot.

Yes, as I said, the computer does power on. Fans run, graphic card's light turns on, the motherboard's HD audio light turns on.

Just had a look at the manual for ur motherboard and it says it is recommended to have graphics card in pci_e2

Just verified where the PCI-E2 slot is: it is the one it is installed on. I must have done a type or something if i said pci-e 1

What do you reckon is the problem though?

Would you be able to verifiy if you get a post beep. If you do get a post beep do you get a spash screen? Or is there nothing being displayed on the screen?
