I understand that ultimately everything is for sale on us in the corporate world, but despite that being a fact, would upgrading to windows 10 be worth it? Would games like Minecraft keep working and would the performance be any good? Yes I know about the torrent style update thing and the data collection, but it's not like companies like Facebook and other are doing that either. Do I let myself live with that one day that data won't mean anything and it will die off after I'm dead and gone. Or do I stay with my nice install of Windows 7 and wait till Microsoft gets the message about their business model?

I did the upgrade to win10 from win7 after doubting about doing it for a while. I wouldn't say "DUDE YOU NEED TO DO THIS" I'm just neutral. It's nice but nothing groundbreaking for me

Currently, Windows 10 is a great OS but from the time I've used it, doesn't bring anything significant to the table over 7.

Now vs 8.1...  it's a huge improvement.
You may want to know that it can run better than 7 on low-end hardware according to some users.

I'd suggest the Windows 7 as aside from DX12, it can do anything Windows 10 can, that users will need.
Also, Vulkan  (I hope it comes soon.)  It'll be on Windows 7 and everything.

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

I did it because I was tiered of my glitchy/getto windows 7 installation process.

I bought a Student windows 7 Upgrade for 30$ BUT when you install windows 7 it requires you to upgrade from something.  So what I have been doing is clean installing windows 7 from a USB then from the the USB again "upgrading" to windows 7....  Because windows 7 see that it was "upgraded to"  and doesnt appear to care what it was upgraded from, my upgrade key works.  I then upgraded to windows 10 for free and my MOBO was registered with microsoft so now I can just clean install windows all over again...  All this because I didnt understand that "upgrade version" limitations...  but for 30$ 5 years ago I got windows 10 so I win

Windows 7 is better than Windows 10.

Its more stable, reliable and is more compatible.  Now, if your using Windows 10 pcs on your network its a different story.  My home server was running Windows 7, however its now running 10 because my other computers are also running it. That makes the server more compatible, because the features are up to date with all the other computers on my network.

There have been some bugs with Windows 10 and games, however it could be a driver issue as well.  But, its good to keep in mind it COULD be a Windows 10 issue hard-freezing games.  Which isn't good.  You can't get to the ctr, alt, delete screen.   Because your hardware is either broken (I know isn't the case) or your drivers & OS aren't compatible with the game and then gets stuck at a pretty low level.
