More Forum Awards?

Just a though, I was wondering if the forums could possibly have awards for those who "specialize" in a certain topic, such as Electronic Repairman, Software Expert, or Audio Technician... I see the forums have some... interesting awards, so do you think it is a good idea? Or a bad one? I could possibly see them getting abused, or the mods getting flooded with requests from users with like 20 posts or something.

Its a cool idea but honestly think it would be a lot of work for the mods to keep track especially to back track those already veteran to the site. 

But I do like the idea.

I think it would be great, but I'm not sure how much work it would be for the guys behind it.

 

Also, for those wondering "Why isn't forum helper used?" It's because the permissions involved weren't working out...

 

Unfortunate, but oh well...

Forum helper would definitely be a good feature if a new version of IPBoard or something else allows for the correct permissions. It's sort of a waste of mod's time to be moving threads around.

ya me too. I dont mean to brag, but I am probably more mature than a lot of the members here. I dont mean to say that newbies are a problem, but they do make a little more work for the mods. I would like to help out in any way possible :D

Well, mods could do with people actually looking for the correct subforum in the first place, really. 

 

But yeah, double posts, wrong section, misleading titles and stuff are all a waste of time for them.

Ya. I do wonder though how much MORE work it would be for the mods if someone gets abusive with their mini-mod powers. Moderating a forum is hard.

Newbies are just newbies. They need time to get used to the forum's rules and environment. They do put a little more stress on the mods but I'm sure they (Mods) understand and are okay with it.

Newbies are just newbies. They need time to get used to the forum's rules and environment. They do put a little more stress on the mods but I'm sure they (Mods) understand and are okay with it.

I remember when I was a newbie here :D tried to sell an HD7970 DirectCu ii with an AWESOME binned chip, and I didnt have 100 posts yet. The folding master caught me on it :P I did manage to sell it locally for 300 bucks though.

Being a mod is ungrateful job. So would be being forum helper since some see them as suckups. Thats why forum uses Report function instead. There's really few times when there's no mods online. Last I encountered was yesterday when it took few hours for reports to get cleared.

As for badges, I also think there could be some more. Like just badge for those who are generally good all-arounders. But since badges are awarded one-by-one, it would take forever to give them out.
