Isn't the 290 roughly equal to the 380 in terms of performance? Plus, reference = loud... OP may not want loud.

Sorry, is the 290 or 380 the reference model you're referring to? (in other words which one is the loud one? >.<)

The loud one is the 290, the reference design usually has a single centrifugal fan at one end blowing air down through the shroud out the I/O shield at the end. They tend to be loud.
