How to activate a HHD

Does the HDD have jumper pins? if yes, are the correct ones crossed? (Master if its the main, slave if other)

You can also enable hot swapping on the sata port so your computer will constantly check to see if there is a drive plugged in.

OP - open disk management, right click disk, select initialise, follow through wizard.

it is plugged yes through sata

 

if i'm not mistaken i have to change something in the bios

I just had to do that with a Windows 7 machine last week. Never underestimate the age of computer hardware. :P

Honestly I've not seen anything using PATA in years.

It was always a right chore setting up (or fixing other peoples messed up) PATA drives. Used to do my nut in messing with jumpers all day long. Kids these days have it easy ;)

Windows 7, HHD is well installed, theres only my SDD in the disk management
