p2p magnet links -> .torrent files.

dylandylandylan

Hey guys!

I'm currently working on a pretty big open source project, and they distribute their files using magnet links,

now my problem is that I've just moved onto the universities campus and they don't allow p2p connections on their network.

I was wondering if there is a way of converting a magnet link into a torrent link which I can then direct download?

any thoughts?

I don't have a star bucks anywhere around me, and I don't think they'd appreciate me downloading 2-3GB files ;)

I think I'd do this as a last resort, it's just that I'm uploading and downloading, so I'd rather have a system set up in my room here at university.

Get a proxy?

If you call up the IT department and get in contact with an admin they might do exceptions for your MAC if you tell them it's work related. (At least in America)

@dylandylandylan

for proxies, see: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/47069-best-vpn-proxy/?hl=btguard#entry623606

Yeah I'll just go walk over there and ask them, I'm sure it'll be sweet ..
