(Updated) First PC Build Opinions?

ReaperPandah

So yesterday I posted a topic about how I'm really tiered of my old laptop and that it was time for a Serious Update!

I listed the System Specs of the PC I was planing to build here on the LinusThechTips Forum and I got some really helpful tips on what could be done to improve the build for not much more money. So here is the updated list of the computer. B)

-CPU:  i5-4690K

-MB:    MSI Z97 GAMING 5

-RAM: HyperX Fury 2x4GB

-GPU:  MSI R9 390

-PSU:  Corsair VS 650

The Computer is meant for 1080p Gaming and I want it to be "Future Resistant"

Does it look alright?

Thanks in Advanced!  :D

Change the PSU. If you want to be safe, get anything from Seasonic or Superflower. (XFX too, but they're Seasonic units anyway)

Other than that, it looks good.

I don't see why the psu needs changed but I think possibly a higher wattage wouldn't hurt... you can get the corsair cx 750 for 70 bucks right now on newegg so might as well, then if you go crossfire later on down the road you have breathing room.

I mean... If you wanna burn your new system then... Go ahead do that; if not then follow the guy said, change the PSU to EVGA G2/GS or XFX TS Gold or XFX XTR or Seasonic one

Get some sort of a decent cooler. You already got an unlocked processor so getting a good cooler will help a lot. If you don't want to spend too much you can go with the CM 212 evo. It's only 25 bucks and you could probably get over 4 ghz with it. If you want to go more expensive the top of the line is the kraken x61 but a few smaller good liquid coolers and the corsair h100i and h80i. Liquid costs over 80 bucks but will probably get you around 4.5ghz.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

corsair isn't going to kill your system, if the guy has enough cash then sure go with those options but you can get great power supplies elsewhere for less.
