1 stick of ram or 2 whitch is better

so as in the title is it better to have one  8gb stick of ram two 4gb or four 2gb is their any advantages and disadvantages to it 

 

 

 

(all stick run at same speed)

Tbh there isn't really a major difference if any at all.

If there is a difference it's very minute.

2 is better, with two sticks of RAM you get fault tolerance, so if one stick ever fails you still have another stick that your machine can depend on. If you just have one stick, if that ever fails you're basically screwed and your system is useless until you go out and repair it. For the sake of safety I would go with two.... performance wise you won't see much of a difference.

Two sticks will run better when you have a dual channel motherboard. Also, buying one stick of ram will allow for more expansion later down the road. If you fill all slots fropm the start, youll have to buy a whole new set when you want more RAM.

Basically this ^ I have used 1x8GB stick of HyperX Black RAM for quite some time cause my old motherboard had only two slots available, got 2x8GB now in a new motherboard, no difference at all.
