I currently use the Z97S SLI Krait Edition motherboard, I recently found out that apparently its not great unless someone thinks it is? I haven't had problems but compared to other boards it supposedly not so good. I saw the the Sabertooth Mark 2 was able to be had for 141$ probably not for long. I really want to overclock far, but not sure if completely trashing the MSI board I got less than 3 months ago is worth doing considering socket 1150 is dead now. Yes, no?

What do you mean 1150 is dead? Still very much alive.

Unless you mean out of production when you say dead, then youre partially right

no it not worth the money to get another Z97 board

save up for the CannonLake CPUs

1150 socket is not dead unless Intel stops producing them or the market is sold out of haswell CPUs and board

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I mean no more CPUs are coming out, so should I save my money for Cannonlake, because I planned on it.

If I were to buy liquid cooling anytime around now, do you think it will be compatible with Cannonlake sockets?

the pins will change

but the socket size will stay the same

the socket LGA 115x have been the same size

Probably at least with an extra mounting bracket you would have to buy, and maybe without any hardware other than what it comes with now if they don't change the socket much.

EDIT: pretty sure 115x sockets don't change in mounting so you should be fine

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo
