This is the web apps. Almost the same thing tbh.

CPU: i5 4670k @ 3.4GHz + Corsair H100i      GPU: Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC (+215 Core|+162 Mem)     SSD: Kingston V300 240GB (OS)      Headset: Logitech G930

Office isn't available on Linux unless you use the web app.

Do you game on this system? I have been wanting to switch to ubuntu for ages but still want to run photoshop and windows steam for gta 5 etc... is wine good for this or have you found another way?

No I don't, and I wouldn't recommend gaming with WINE. Not every single application is compatible

WINE.

 

WINE doesn't work with any version of Office past 2010.

I use a Lenovo T440: i5 4300U, 8GB RAM, 128GB Samsung 840 Evo, 14" 900p display and an external 23" 1080p passive 3D monitor. Extended 6-cell battery with internal 3-cell. Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (I only use open-source software -- haven't paid for a single program yet).

Nice! I thought it was impossible because it wants a newer OS than Windows XP (but it detects WINE as too old). What version of WINE is it running under? Did you have to pull some magic to get it to work?

Grab a Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft's website and put it inside a VirtualBox machine, just press Skip when it tells you to enter the product key, and download Office365 in your Windows 10 virtual machine, then put the installation file a VirtualBox shared folder (if you don't know how to do that, google it) so that you then can access the file in Ubuntu.

I think it around Wine 1.7.40 -ish, there were a couple of things I had to install (corefonts and msxml spring to mind) and a few over-rides, the same ones that were required to install 2010. When I get back, I'll have a look and see exactly what I did :)
