Hey guys. So recently i've been having frame drops issues with my ASUS Strix gtx 970 4gb. While gaming, i get random gpu usage drops to 0% for a fraction of a second. This is in games like The Witcher 3, GTA V, Assassins Creed Black Flag, and more recent titles. I have already installed all latest drivers needed. I also don't have the games on their highest settings.

My PC is very well ventilated so there's no heat problems. Also, my vram usage usually averages out at 60% most of the time so it shouldn't be the nvidia problem with the 3.5gb of the 970s.

Here are my PC specs:
CPU: i5 4690k 3.50 ghz
GPU: Strix GTX 970 4gb
Mobo: Z97s SLI Krait Edition
Ram: 2 x 8gb Kingston HyperX Fury 1866 mhz
PSU: Corsair 1000w Platinum

I need help fast cause this is really annoying. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I've also posted this on Toms Hardware

snip

Don't use the lastest drivers, use the most stable ones, 353.62 is the most stable one in the past 6 months from my knowledge, so if your using the one for say battlefront beta game ready don't

what about the other 8 million of people using the GTX 970 with the same gameready driver that are NOT having this issue?

Ive already tried that. Same problem.

Well it is an asus, so I'm going to blame the gpu itself, so it's likely defective

VRAM probably gets into the 0.5G territory - tone down AA and or AF
