Problem of Durability.. IEM's

Fluffinator

Currently I have a problem finding a earphone that won't break on me. I can go about a month without the apple earpods breaking, the longest earpods I've had were the Seinheiser Momentum IEM's which lasted about five months. I tried looking at something reallt expensive in the past like custom IEM's but I feel like I would break them.. So I'm looking for suggestions for a decent pair of IEM's under $150 I listen to mostly rock such as this.

Do they have to be IEMs? For the price range you've listed (Under $150) you can get some pretty damn good headsets and headphones alike.

I've heard good things about the SE-215 however I feel like the over ear musician style isn't for me.

You take a look at the Sennheiser Momentum IEMs? People speak volumes about them; super rich sound quality - Durable and not too expensive. Like £90 which is something like $140.

**I forgot you mentioned you already owned a pair of those, MY BAD  <_< **

why would you replace headphones just because connector is broken. Buy a bigger connector and solder it on to it. Maybe ad a spring to the connector so that it would, not bend so much

It's a better idea to get those sturdy metal jacks and solder it on them and maybe add some braided cable

Not the jack size/shape you want but this is what I am talking about

I can solder but, you can't solder that there's actually no sound coming out of one of the earbuds it's not the connector it's the entire wire inside is split. I could get a new wire and try my luck but that is far too much work.

It's an hour of work tops. I don't think you get paid $150 an hour :D  It's just my suggestion. Good quality headphones break only at the cable and there is little the manufacturer can do as different people apply different pressure to the cable. Just try cutting a little bit further than where the cable was split and it should fix it.

You can't re solder IEM cables, the wire that they use on the inside isn't your regular copper cable... PLEASE don't attempt to re solder them unless you have a really good soldering kit and have soldered them before.

I thought so, I didn't look at the video because it was for regular sized headphones and I sort of have a idea of what I'm doing somewhat.. lol

Ohhhhh these are over ear designed. Not my thing, feel like I would feel like a dork wearing them. How about the Paradigm Shift E3, I've seen those aswell.

Never used them before, but the reviews seem to say that they are good quality earbuds. Really though, if you want accurate sound quality, you have to put your money into stage monitors like the Sennheiser IE60, Shure SE215 or something similar.

Design doesn't equal better sound, they are designed like that because musicians prefer it for better isolation means and the over the ear design is just all around better for musicians alike whether it be less likely to fall out or better concealed or whatever. However that wouldn't affect the sound quality. For me I want something not geared towards musician, no over the ear design, doesn't mean I won't get a good sound experience just means I'm not a fan of the design.

If you want a durable IEM, I think you'll have to go with over the ear style with removable cable. Most straight cable IEM are just not durable enough especially if you broke a momentum in ear in 5 months.

SE215 is an option, other (more expensive) option are SE535, UE900S, W40, W4R and SE425
