Ahhh new build issues

Ok, so I just put together my PC. Parts are as follows:

 

i3 - 4150 CPU

Asus Z87-C motherboard

16GB RAM

MSI 7970 Reference

Kingston 240GB SSD

 

Corsair K70 keyboard

 

I plugged in the keyboard, monitors via displayport and booted it up. Nothing. All fans spin, but the keyboard and mouse aren't lit up, therefore I assume no power. Also, there's no output to either monitor. They detect nothing.

I've also tried connecting one of the monitors to the motherboard via the included VGA cable. Also nothing.

 

Any ideas?

The only thing that i could think of is that the motherboard isn't updated to the latest BIOS in order to support Haswell refresh CPUs.

Notice it's a Z87 board. That's not it. Z87 boards can support up to Haswell-E.

Since when did LGA 1150/Z87/Z97 ever supported LGA 2011-V3?

You could just borrow a friend's chip or buy a cheap Celeron/Pentium just to update the bios.

Haha, I don't have friends with an LGA1150 chip. I'll probably search Craigslist for a cheap chip.

I guess you could just sell it afterwards or use it as a backup chip.

Well doing a bunch of video editing right now...kinda a bitch to do when your classmates let you do everything/slack off just to get a grade.
