Project Blue-J -- TJ07 Build log (56K warning)

Nice images. I like the box on the new intel cpus. Your room looks great!

Thanks, I should be getting a new huge desk in the next few months that will be awesome. The desk in the pictures is only temporary and a bit annoying.

Good call on the 7970's... those MSI twinfrozr are great cards... I have the 7950 and it over clocks like a champ

Nice build overall so far :)

You might of skipped past it but I said that I sent the 7970 back, the coil whine was ridiculous. I did order a msi GTX 680 (what I had originally planned for this build) and it just arrived a few minutes ago.

Ohh haha yes I most definitely did miss that

When i have the side panel off my case and stressing my card I could hear it but with my side panel on thankfully I cant :) But i do agree.. it is ridiculous

I tried it in a closed environment and I could still hear it very loudly. At the time my bed was above the rig and even a mattress couldn't stop the whining, not even muffle it.

  • 1 month later...

Aluminium everywhere!

Sorry for the lack of updates recently but I've been busy with school and overall have been too lazy to do anything.

So without further or do let's jump into the pics.

Stripped the vinyl off of the mobo tray, fear of getting damaged during powder coating.

Cut one of the holes a slight bit bigger for better cable management and have a mask for the dremelling.

Cut some aluminium sheets down to size for the midplate and the mobo tray cover.

Doesn't fit correctly but it's only the first try.

Neither does the midplate.

Other than those pieces the drive cage cover was highly damaged (used sheets because they were cheaper)

Some new stuff came in the mail, first off Bitfenix cable extensions.

That's all for tonight, tune in tomorrow for a "cooler" update and possibly something cool involving a giveaway.
