Undetectable proxy setup?

Go to solution Solved by aeroencychris,

i have the same thing, i use browsec (chrome extension)

what i do at my school (they use lightspeed) i use the chrome extension tunnelbear then i use that to download cyber ghost , because they have all VPN/proxy sites blocked. then i just use cyber ghost

Somehow Tunnelbear and Browsec weren't blocked (despite both being VPNs) so I use Browsec for my Chrome PC and Tunnelbear for my phone. Thanks!

Hi,

I'm currently at a school with a ridiculously good firewall set up (iBoss to be specific) due to some freshman hacking into the network a couple of years back. It's not very fun, as you can imagine. They block the obvious stuff like illegal activity and "adult content", but also stuff like all SSH and FTP connections, as well as simple things like opera.com. As you probably guessed, I'm looking for a way to get past this.

Preface: please don't give me the "moral usage" talk. I'm not doing anything malicious, I just want to download my damn Opera without being stopped for no reason.

Anyways, I've tried quite a bit so far. It seems all VPN connections are detected, as well as the proxy I set up at my home network (PHProxy via a Raspberry Pi). Does anyone else have any ideas of how to get past this? Things like SSH and FTP might be a bit harder to access but as long as I can view simple webpages I'm fine. Thoughts?

Thanks,

-Chris

I am actually but their terms of use say they don't track history. Also I doubt they're that committed.

Yeah history maybe that can still what you're accessing and writing about

iBoss is a pretty trash filter. Either way, any and all proxies are detectable if the people who should care do care enough. Solution to use Opera:

  • Don't install it on a school computer.
  • Install it in a portable instance, eg on a flash drive.
  • Bring your own PC... with it installed.

Sorry I didn't mention, I'm always using my own PC. I live on campus so it's not like it's a library computer or something. I also have my home PC accessible via TeamViewer which has been nice but I'm looking for a more reliable solution. I did manage to get Opera but the concept is to not have to rely on my home PC.
