Windows xp install format stuck at 58 percent

When I'm formatting the hard drive for windows Xp it gets stuck at 58%.i think this is caused do to a bad sector I can here the drive scratching instead of its normal sound.Anyone know how to fix it?

you replace the drive

 

but why are you installing windows XP anyway? its been unsupported for years

it has a ton of holes and vulnerabilities

Wait for 30 minutes and if nothing changes then retry the install!

59%! But I think there's multiple bad sectors cause it's stuck there.

I would recommend NOT using Windows XP unless you're making some kind of offline control computer for old CnC machines or something similar.

 

As @Enderman said, Windows XP has been "end of support" for Microsoft since 2008, and was officially "end of life" in 2012 meaning ZERO security updates are coming out for any vulnerabilities still remaining in the OS or being discovered.

No, Windows 95 is completely OK. :D

 

I mean, it's not like the viruses could actually make it any worse.
