ok ... so youre going prebuilt... so youre actually gonna get about 1000 worth of parts for the 1500

so i would go with the 390

i would really recommend you make it yourself if youre comfortable, you will know whats in it and get much better performance

prebuilt pc makers tend to use lower end components when it comes to ram psus and mobos

CPU: i5 6600k @ 4.6 ghz  Motherboard: Asus z170-a  Cooling: Corsair h80i GT GPU: EVGA GTX 970  Ram: G.Skill 2x8 gb ddr4 2400  PSU: EVGA G2 Supernova 550w  Case: Corsair 200r Storage: 250GB 850 EVO + 2x wd 1 tb drives

the 390 does do like 5 more fps on games then the 970. the vram is the biggest selling point the 970 has 3.5gb and the 390 has 8gb

Whoever is saying that is incorrect.  R9 390 is the stronger card.

If you absolutely refuse to build your own, really you should build it and get a much better X99 rig for 1,500, use NCIX and their assembly it for you option:

http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=7842

Which is a mere 50 bucks instead of the markup other vendors will charge.

also one more thing, i would recommend you upgrade the psu as soon as you get the pc.. the one they will give you will probably be the b1 evga which is poo

Honestly 970 and 390 are pretty much the same in performance unless you're going for a monitor over 1080p. So just buy whichever though if you're gaming 970 usually has much better deals with free games (pretty much 60 - 80 dollars off).

The B2 is a Superflower unit, it is a high quality PSU.  You are thinking of the B1 made by FSP.
