is this a good overclock ?

So i just a tri x r9 290x from sapphire today.

I got it to 1090mhz on core , and 1400mhz on memory, at 115% power limit.

I have +5mv on core.

Is this OK ?

Should i bring it back to stock voltage ?

With stock volts , i get 1080mhz.

I'm not sure what is considered safe in terms of voltage.

Any help will be appreciated.

 

Also, will this beat the 390x ?

go +50Mv and 1150 core. +5 only is silly.

You need to say what the temperatures are.

Otherwise there's no reference to base what voltage is good or not.

Have you tried maxing the power limit to see how far you can go before adding voltage? 

 

It'll only beat a 390x if the 390x is lower clocked. Otherwise, no.

How far can i go in terms of voltage ?

What is considered safe ?

 

Btw i tried 1125 with +30mv and i kept getting artifacts.

Go 1150 with +50mV and 120% power. 50% fan speed

1140/1400 seems okay to me. Give the fan 55-60% for lower temps or keep at 50% for lower noise - your choice. Else, you're good to go with the OC.

Ok . kept the profile in afterburner.

I'll keep it at stock until i get another case fan though.

They spin up quite much and the temps for the rest of my system aren't good .
