I orderd some cheap pci-e network cards for my home file server and i got 2 from the 5 now i tested the first one it says 1 gbps at the duplex & speed tab (picture 1) but when i go back to the status tab it says 100 mbps (picture 2) doing an speedtest locks on 100mbps (Internet = 500Mbps up /down) when plugging same cable into motherboard get 1 gbps and full 500mbps on speedtest is ther an extra option to turn it from 100 mbps to 1000 or something cuz the ebay advertention says also 1 gbps just like the duplex setting (picture 1)

These cheap cards make 1Gb/s links but they can't transfer data at near the maximum speeds because they're so weak.

Alright is there an price from where the network cards are good for 1gbps or do u maybe get a link to an good one ?

I would test the cable with another computer to verify it shows a 1gbps link, if not it is either the cable or your switch.

I've seen cables that pass a light test showing all four pairs are good, but still won't show up as a 1gbps link and need to be re-crimped.

From OP's original post:

"when plugging same cable into motherboard get 1 gbps and full 500mbps on speedtest "

OP: You get what you pay for.

Take this a experience. Look for cards with Intel controller chips. If the price seems to good to be true, it probably is. Buy from a reputable seller that has good feedback.

Whoops, my bad. I glossed right over in the OP where you said you have already tested it...

Definitely looks like its just a crappy NIC, I've bought several of these and have had no issues at all: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003CFATNI
