Torn between Apex and Blackwidow

Apex, of the two. Never Razer.

I've had my Blackwidow for a few days now and I'm contemplating returning it. I'm not a fan of the keys being so high up and noisy, the tactile response feeling is quite nice. But I much prefer the feel of my old membrane keyboard, which wasn't as high up, it was quiet, and felt really smooth. This just feels kinda clunky and I'm having a hard time adjusting to it since the keys feel out of place so I'm making numerous errors while typing or playing games. Only thing that is making me hesitant from trading in is that I'm not sure if the Apex will be as responsive/fast with the key clicks as the Blackwidow is or other mechanical keyboards. So yeah, I could use some help with this decision from someone who has either used both or some other good quality membrane keyboards. I would get the stealth edition but that wouldn't fix the awkwardness I'm having with the higher keys and layout that feels oddly displaced to what I've used for years. Also I don't know if this would influence someones input but the reason I'm so concerned about the speed of the key clicks is because I play alot games that require the same keys to be pressed repeatedly with speed, like peeking or strafing in cs.

Maybe you can look at MX Red switches

>Inb4 RAZER IS EVIL HURDUR

I have a blackwidow, with orings tho. It's p nice.

Can't say I've ever heard of the Apex board.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

SNIP

I dont think the blackwidow has a wrist rest, so thats probably why you are finding the keys so tall

Personally I dont like EITHER of those keyboards, so I guess I am not sure what you are looking for in a keyboard

I moved from membrane to MX Browns and I really like the balance

If I recall correctly the K70 has those switches, which I WAS considering getting one.

I'm wanting to know if the apex being a membrane keyboard is going to make a significant difference in speed compared to mechanical keyboards. I am open to suggestions for other good (fast) membrane keyboards.

I cannot in good faith recommend a membrane keyboard, especially one that costs so much

maybe the logitech g105 for $50, but even that is expensive when the G710+ is only $90 with a nice wrist rest etc

Maybe others can, but yeah, I cannot personally tell somebody to go send $100 on a membrane keyboard, sorrry

It's fine, I already have trust issues with steelseries after having 2 sensei's die on me within the time span of 15-16 months. Also money isn't much of a problem as long as it isn't over $200, I already spent $170 on this light show of a keyboard.

I went ahead and got the Apex, not disappointed with it at all. It's everything I was looking for and better.
