Best cheap CPU for 3D rendering and editing?

Hello everyone!

 

             I was wondering what would the best CPU be for around the same price of the FX-8350. I will also do some gaming and video editing. AMD or Intel?

around that price point would be a i5 4690k 

 

but the 8350 might outperform it SLIGHTLY in multithreaded workloads but the i5 will crush it in gaming

yes, rendering is more reliant on cores(threads) granted it wont be too much lower but like i said the i5 will be much better for gaming 

 

ideally you want an i7... another option would be to go with a xeon 1231 v3 which is a 8 threaded cpu without integrated graphics.. it wont perform as well in games but will be better for rendering

Do you know how much better it will be?  is it a big difference that I can notice?

you need to make a compromise... what do you value more rendering or gaming

FX is great to and cost less but if you can afford the other go for it!

I dont play a lot of hard to run games mostly Starcraft 2 league of legends and world of warcraft and games like that. I do value rendering more so wouldl the Intel Xeon Processor E3-1231V3B be my best choice for all of these things?

i know its more expensive, but the xeon 1231v3 is awesome for editing and rendering

its pretty much an i7 for the price of an i5 (without integrated graphics and a lower clock)

much better than a 8350 if you can afford it

oh yhea and my pc specs are a r9 270 8 gigs of ddr3 ram 650 watt power supply and the h81m-h motherboard. Would that all work with the xeon processor?

that's a gigabyte board right? should work fine, you may have to update your bios but the board will be fine

will work fine... its a bit underpowered but for what you said you will be playing will serve you ok
