Better GTX960?

BeanMachine
Go to solution Solved by Curufinwe_wins,

thanks @Curufinwe_wins so jsut to clarify it doesnt matter if I get a 930 or 920 and the x versions are completely useless

290 or 390, not really no. Minimal difference at best with the 290 being much cheaper (when available). The x versions are indeed worthless investments.

Only with the stock blower cooler

I see, alright thanks

@Curufinwe_wins The recommended PSU for the 290 you linked is a 750W so does that mean I have to upgrade my PSU?

You should be fine with 600W assuming you didn't overclock your 8320.

Alright, and now I swear this will be the last question that I will annoy you with, I saw that the cooler on the card you showed me was quite bad at the same temps as the refferecne model (93 C) so do you have another suggestion with slightly better cooling?

It's a 2nd tier 290 and the cooler on it is only sufficient. It has cooling for the vrm but not the VRAM (like asus) overclocking on that card isn't good.

the sapphire ones are far more expensive, and the powercolor pcs+ has alot of reviews saying it is horrible, it also is louder than the other one I linked.

Odd. The PCS+ is know for being one of the best 290/x. Where are you reading those reviews from?

Well newegg user reviews are pretty bs. But the one on the nexus says that the stock fan profile is loud. Setting their own fan profile made the card go lesser than 40db.

Great well since I'm not the greatest with tech I don't know how to set my own profile

You don't need to be an expert in tech to set a custom fan curve. You can use msi afterburner as well. It's as easy as using ms paint.

I got the 390x because it's only a few dollars more than a 970 G1. But that's just my country.

The difference in price between a 390 and 290 is only 20$ so should Í get a 390?
