Yes, that is possible.

But you can also connect more than one monitor to most graphics cards.

My wife and I both do this. one GPU and panel for gaming, the other for anything else. Her R9 270 only sees about 5% performance boost, but it uses 35% of her HD 6450 just to run Netflix.

Yes i know that i can have more than one monitor on one card but why would i use little performance of GTX 960 when i have some hitty card that i can use on that :D
