what are your system specs, OS? just so we know what we're working with.  event-41 just tells us the computer rebooted when it wasnt supposed to

and is it actually booting to windows?

does it reboot when you play games, or just idling?

what kind of temperatures are you getting?

are you getting actual bsods? what do they say?

what are your full system specs? like what parts are you using? from the other thread(please only make one thread), it looks like you have an amd fx 6350@3.9ghz(cpu) and an r9 380(gpu), but what about your motherboard, power supply, ram(i know you have 8GB, but what speed and frequency)? we need a little more information.

ill post in the other thread for a mod to remove it. and we'll just use this one.

awesome!

well, i dont believe the cpu is the problem, the motherboard isnt the best, but i dont believe its causing your issues either(although it is possible).  i think the problem is either the gpu or the power supply. make sure everything is plugged in correctly, maybe reseat your gpu. just to be sure.

also see if you can check the event viewer to see if there is any critical information there.

could it be the ram or the hdd? i bought the ram used and the first hdd new egg sent was crap and i needed a new one how do i reset the gpu since it wont hurt to try? and the event viewer is critical every time it reboots event 41 kernal power is under critical i get some error events but every single time it reboots its critical event 41

it could be the ram,  take out one stick, and see what happens. if its still happening, take out the other one instead.

EDIT: also, make sure all of your drivers are up to date, bad drivers can cause this really easily

ill try that tomorrow and idk if it matters but my transfer speeds are rediculous i tried downloading stuff and it was telling me i had days left my transfer rate kept going to like 500kb/s max and then it would drop back to like 20kb/s

download speeds can very for a number of reasons, including your isp, router/modem, network congestion, the upload speed of the source you're downloading from, even bad drivers for your network card.  probably unrelated, but definately make sure to update all your drivers

i did every update possible, made sure all the drivers were newest as possible and the download speed was around 350kb/s and it still froze/rebooted. however i took out 1 stick of memory and the down speed is up to 6mb/s and ive let it download for an hour (which is wen it crashed the most) and i havent had a freeze or crash yet do u think this is definetly the problem? can we make sure before i go on and send it in for a refund?

I would agree with what Tsuki said earlier about your download speeds being unrelated to the computer rebooting.

Mayby it's because fo the Bios on your motherboard, i had the reboot issue when i would start a medium to heavy task, or when i would start a game and record, my Bios wasn't updated from when it came out of the box and conflicted with my cpu, a simple update of drivers etc. could mayby help.

nah download speeds are completely unrelated,  weird and coincidental, but unrelated(probably).

its possible that both of your sticks of ram are bad.  and what slots are you plugging them into? the first two slots, or the first and the third? or some other combination

@Brechtjeu is very possibly correct as well. it could easily be the due to an outdated Bios on your motherboard.  THIS should have the latest Bios for your motherboard. and THIS GUIDE should answer some of your questions on how to do that.

let us know if it works.

may be a stupid question but i downloaded the driver and is that all i have to do? i extracted it and then i tried running the application and it says its not compatable with windows so i downloaded the other and the same thing came up so i just restarted windows and it did 6 updates assuming i dont need to run any app for it to work just making sure thats how it works lol

Might not help but worth checking, as I had a similar problem when I was upgrading my pc. I had installed a new gpu and had also added an extra fan in the case. However, I had piggy backed the fan onto the pci cable the gpu was using and it was causing the pc to shutdown or reboot during gaming or freeze now and then when idle.

  • Does the pci power cable going into your gpu have anything else connected to it?
  • Have you tried taking out the gpu and letting it run idle to see if the problem continues?

my pci cables are only connected to the gpu and the problem doesnt happen wen its running idle in fact the problem that breachtjeu was having is extremly similar to mine but i updated my bios driver already and no cigar. maybe its a different driver? to be honest i dont even know how to check if i have the latest drivers.
