please read this because I don't think the issue seems like rocket science and any help is appreciated.

 

Alright, so I constantly get dips on my download speed and ping every day now. This started just a few days ago but my computer is wired straight to a router and into my modem and normally always kept a consistent ping of 12-13 and a download of 28-29 mbps. Now, It keeps changing to 33 ms and 1-4 mbps. I dunno why it happens but it always does and i usually fix it by disconnecting my modem and restarting it. However, it gets SO annoying because I have been doing it constantly now. 

 

I know the speeds always fluxuate, but not by this much. What do you guys recommend? I'm on a cat6 wired connection and this crap keeps happening. Should I call my service provider? In this case, i dont need to know how to solve the problem, but WHY does this happen? What could i do to fix this issue?

wel, that wouldnt explain it going to shit from one day to the next - also, if your ISP isnt a jackass "up to" means usually 10% less if you're unlucky.

this is the OP's 2nd time in 30 minutes posting to hot deals asking for help.

 

lots of people subscribe to hot deals and get notifications when you post there, not a big deal but things do go in certain sections for a reason.

just try and make sure to post in the right section when making a post.  not a huge deal but it notifies everyone that subs to hot deals when you post there.

 

 

on topic:  I'd call your ISP and ask them if there is anything going on with their end OR if they can tell if something is wrong with your end.
