I moved my computer to clean it but now that I've brought it back to it's home and reconnected all my peripherals I've noticed that my mic isn't being recognized. It has power as being shown by the red mute button but the sound panel isn't showing it as an audio recorder? Help.

Without joking or anything. But have you tried unplugging it, and plugging it back in? And try another USB port, possibly another cable if you have one.

Yeah first thing I did moved it up a slot and still didn't work and though I have amassed dozens of cables none would would work with my mic.

Edit- also if it was a problem with the cable or usb port then the button wouldn't light up.
