asus 970 turbo cooling

Go to solution Solved by manikyath,

well.. asus doesnt cool their vrm either way (kappa) so i'm pretty sure those fancy nzxt gpu brackets wont do anything the card isnt designed for.

i'm thinking just get the kraken G10, like this.

http://www.overclockingmadeinfrance.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/GTX-970-Turbo-PCB.jpg?050723

but custom design a duct (let it 3d print somewhere perhaps?) that guides the fan's air over the card, like the old blower cooler did.

pre-post edit: scratch that idea - kraken G10 is WAY beyond two slots xD

so i want to water cool my 2 asus turbo 970's since they arent as quiet or as cool as i wanted. they run at 50% fan speed and i have cut down the overclock i could get on them dramiticly just so they dont themal throttle with the fans above 55% they are insanely loud and i cant have that.

i have realised that i need to get a universal water block for them since a full cover one doesnt exist.

i was hoping people had solutions to cooling the vrm and ram that isnt super sketchy.

i am using an AIO for the cpu so that doesn't matter.

i was thinking about buying the ekwb aio cooler and removing the cpu cooler and adding universal blocks to it since it would be cheaper then building from scratch.

anyway my question is how i should cool everything other then the core.

my case is an phanteks enthoo evolv matx.

I would use one of the alphacool universal blocks

if you can get them to make a custom heatsink for your GPU thats even better

I think if they dont have one already they will make you a free heatsink if you send them one of your GPUs to get 3d scanned (you get the GPU back afterwards)

does it keep the gpu to a dual slot design? i cant be having triple slot

wow thanks for that picture. i might just be able to use a universal waterblock alone without cooling the rest. since they have that little aluminum peice. still gona submit to alphacool but this works.

if you're daring, you could mod the stock cooler to fit an aio - just like some of the aio cards do.
