Am I just wasting time on lesser languages?

I'm wondering if i am wasting time going from CSS to CSS2 to CSS3 or can I learn everything i need to know just on CSS3 by its self?

Same for HTML - HTML5.

If you're interested in just web design, you're fine.

But anything like developing, etc.. you're on the beginner pre-stages

for just web design they are fine, however if your interested in doing anything deeper then you will want to learn something like python.

 

but hey that's still more fun and interactive then what im doing tricopter controller design in C + Simulink models as well as looking at how the communication is being carried out over serial

Just learn CSS3 and HTML5 because you're not going to be developing for browsers from the 1990's

Just learn HTML 5 and CSS 3. If you ever need to go back and use an older version, cross that bridge when the time comes.
