Well now Mojang no longer own MC any more I guess we'll see what MS do with it.

mojaing still owns MC, its even still the same group of devs working on it.

they're just owned by MS now. its like the twitch/amazon thing, and all the others.

No, MS owns Mojang, but Mojang itself sadly will still have a lot of control over it

thats why mods exist xD

minecraft forge (which is just the API) causes the game to run approx. 30% better in some cases.

I am talking specifically about them messing with basic mechanics, and besides I have yet to see a mod fix the performance issues

optifine has been doing that since the dawn of times, minecraft forge has been REALLY good at fixing performance oversights (like that pci-e bandwidth thing) and fastcraft is pretty much the standard in giving TPS a boost.

In a year or two there won't be a new game that doesn't use all of the threads of your CPU. If the 5820k wins even right now, it will be significantly better in the future and relevant longer.

There shouldn't be any major API bottlenecks in DX12. That's what it's made for. If the 5820k is just as good in gaming right now, it can be only better in the future.

All current games run on DX11. If you want the best hardware for DX12, wait for DX12 games to be released and look at the benchmarks of the games you're interested in.

Second of all the 6700K wins from the 5820K in quite a few games according to Linus video from yesterday:

Desktop: Intel i9-10850K (R9 3900X died 😢 )| MSI Z490 Tomahawk | RTX 2080 (borrowed from work) - MSI GTX 1080 | 64GB 3600MHz CL16 memory | Corsair H100i (NF-F12 fans) | Samsung 970 EVO 512GB | Intel 665p 2TB | Samsung 830 256GB| 3TB HDD | Corsair 450D | Corsair RM550x | MG279Q

Laptop: Surface Pro 7 (i5, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD)

Console: PlayStation 4 Pro

not nearly enough, sure it'll go up a bit but the GTX 670 still wrecks the 980ti by a mile

thats because as long as its not intel integrated minecraft gives zero shits about your GPU, because its not graphically intensive. try again with shaders xD

How does that make any sense at all? You replace the 980Ti with a GTX 670 and your FPS skyrockets, obviously the GPU is at play or the fps would not vary, especially by this much

not to mention every GPU I have ever tested reaches near 100% usage
