Drone'n'Base multiplayer game with real drones

Source: http://dsl.sk/article.php?article=17575

Translated (by me.. so sorry :D):

Slovak company Anima Technika today informed about their new product, small drones for playing games with multiple people. They call these drones Drone'n'Base and you will be able to play racing games or even shooters or more.

Drone weights 46 grams and it is 9.4cm x 8.4cm x 3.8cm. It is controlled over Bluetooth 4.0 and it is also capable of transmitting and receiving infra red signal. Drone is controlled with a mobile app over Bluetooth at the distance of maximum 30 meters.

Shooting works by "shooting" the invisible infra red signal. There are two colored diods on the drone. One can be to signalize player team the other for hit detection for example.

Anima Technika already has working prototypes and app and they want to start production this November and they may do something like kickstarter to finance it. When it will be for sale they dont say yet.

It is supposed to have only 350mAh battery that should last only 7 minutes. :(

It looks great but that battery life is killing it. Hopefully the batteries can be at least changed or can charge fast. I see why they put such a small battery on it since it is such a small drone but as a concept is is amazing and I hope they will make it into production.

EDIT:

Yes, that CGI in the video is cringe worthy :/

30min charge time, so you would need to buy two more batteries for continuous play (4 can charge on 1 station):
