Hey!

I have a problem with my pc I recently built.
When I start a game, a noise starts, similar to coil whine but not from the vga inside the case or from the psu, it is coming from the headset, speaker or whatever audio device I am using. If the fps is higher the noise is louder. Unfortunately in my case if I set the fps to 120, the noise still remains. If I use the front panel audio, the sound on 120 fps does not exsist and at 500~ fps the sound is so little I have to focus to hear it. I have tried this processor idle setting off either, does not help.

I still can go back and ask my money back for the components or replace them with others, that is why the problem should be solved in the next 2 days.
Mobo: Gigabye z97x gaming 3
VGA: gigabyte gtx 960 mini
Psu: Cooler Master g650m

Try a cheap sound card like a Xonar DG and see if the problem presists. There's also a possibility it could be due to EMI from your power supply. My laptop sends buzzing noises through the headphone jack if I'm not using the OEM power supply.

I had the same PSU with my old comp which was gtx 660 and asus p6t deluxe v2, no sound there tho it had 200 fps in the game i play easily and didnt have any little noise. Now i have noise at 120, same headphones same psu.

Should i Rma only the motherboard or the vga too? I couldn't find any whining post about 960 mini so...
