Hi Guys,

Need help, Building a Gaming/Video editing PC and am trying to decide between a 5930k and 5820k but don't know which one to choose as 5820 has 28 lanes and 5930 has 40 no real difference other than that, other specs are:

Rampage V Extreme USB 3.1

Asus Strix 980ti (2 in future)

HX1000i PSU

16GB HyperX Fury RAM

850 EVO 120gb ssd

1TB WD green

Corsair H100i GTX

Asus Optical Drive

Want to run all on 1080p 100+ fps on Ultra (Maybe getting 1440p monitor, would like similar fps don't mind 60+ at that point though as I know 1440p is more demanding)

Like i said 2 GPU in future small chance of 3 but rather upgrade at that point to a new single GPU option.

Really grateful with any help with this!!!!!

5820k is more than enough. The price difference isn't really worth it imo.

3 way GPU's are trash due to scaling issues.

"Sulit" (adj.) something that is worth it

1-2 GPU's - 5820k

3-4 - 5930k

5820k is a better choice imo.

5820K is more than sufficient for that build, 5930K's extra PCIE-E lanes are only useful with 3 or more GPUs.

Project White Lightning (My ITX Gaming PC): Core i5-4690K | CRYORIG H5 Ultimate | ASUS Maximus VII Impact | HyperX Savage 2x8GB DDR3 | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB | WD Black 1TB | Sapphire RX 480 8GB NITRO+ OC | Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ITX | Corsair AX760 | LG 29UM67 | CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate | Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum | HyperX Cloud II | Logitech Z333

Benchmark Results: 3DMark Firestrike: 10,528 | SteamVR VR Ready (avg. quality 7.1) | VRMark 7,004 (VR Ready)

Other systems I've built:

Core i3-6100 | CM Hyper 212 EVO | MSI H110M ECO | Corsair Vengeance LPX 1x8GB DDR4  | ADATA SP550 120GB | Seagate 500GB | EVGA ACX 2.0 GTX 1050 Ti | Fractal Design Core 1500 | Corsair CX450M

Core i5-4590 | Intel Stock Cooler | Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI | HyperX Savage 2x4GB DDR3 | Seagate 500GB | Intel Integrated HD Graphics | Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 | be quiet! Pure Power L8 350W

Or a bunch of extra stuff like a 37 quadrillion PCIe SSDs lel.

Yes, you're right :D

According to a video Linus made a while back it doesn't really matter if your graphics cards are getting their number of pci lanes restricted because it has an almost negligible effect on fps. The only reason you would need the 5930k is if you didn't have enough lanes even with cutting everything down to the lowest possible, which wouldn't happen except if you had 4 GPUs and maybe some other stuff too.

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

Get the 5820K and spend the extra cash on a bigger SSD. 120GB is really an inadequate amount these days. 250GB isn't really that much more expensive so I really urge you to reconsider on that.
