Like others have said it depends on the lottery, personally I got my 3570k to 4.5ghz with my CMV8 but I didn't try to push it any further due to load temps being around 75c. The CMV8 is a pretty beefy cooler.

depends on the CPU and how it preforms. You'll have to see for yourself.

You can over lock it as much as you can over lock it, it usually depends on the CPU itself and sometimes the motherboard.

what kind of locks do you use?

It all depends on the silicon lottery. Depending on your chip, you may not get far at all.
