What is the most effective way to deal with DDOSing? I've personally be DDOSed quite a few times myself and so have my friends.

1) Never use Skype

2) Don't watch porn

3) Never share your IP to anyone

4) Have an up to date antivirus

5) Have an up to date Windows Update

6) Contact your ISP if you are been victim of DDOS.

The CS:GO community is evil from what I have heard.

In the high ranks of csgo competitive, ddosing is common. Note, we're talking LEM to GE I and GE II.

If you haven't been around csgo for long, there is only one GE rank, but in the begginning, it was limited to only a certain number of people, meaning only the best players in the community had the title. Only a couple years back they changed that, allowing many, many more people to break into GE ranks. This led to a split in GE skill between the people who are just getting into the rank, and those who've been at the top. Leading to two factions, the GE I (Noob GE) and the GE II (We're talking pro-level sponsored players)

@OP, having a dynamic IP can help quite a lot, to mitigate the ddos it's really easy, just turn your router off for 5 seconds, then turn it back on and bingo bango new external ip. If you have a static ip, then it's considerably more difficult, you'll need to use a VPN, proxy, or you can also fix your skype credentials using a modified html file to stop people from being to obtain ip from skype names.

Why are you being personally DDOSed?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

If this is a TCP flood, then get a stronger firewall machine and write proper drop rules.

If this is an UDP flood - you can't do anything but nullrouting all the traffic, when u're being ddos'ed.

Please do not use any free VPN services unless you are OK with them gleaning as much information on you as possible.

A good paid VPN is really the only good solution. Most VPN services actively monitor their networks for signs of attacks. They will also mitigate these attacks and take the required steps to track down the sources.
