$400 console killer pc or ps4? Help needed...

i use both... honestly, i would just shoot for BOTH....

 

PS4 has ONE benefit over PC...

There is no driver updates that will frequently brick your system

Keyboard and mouse is supported with the PS4, but it is up to each game maker to decide to implement it. But for browsing you can easily use keyboard + mouse (i have a Logitech K830 for my PS4)

Only downside with PS4 atm is that it does not support Word or Excel. so you cannot do homework or well, any real work at it.

don't get me wrong, I love the pentium, I'm also planning my first build to be a pentium.

But seems to me that a GTX970 is total overkill..

 

or is the PentiumK a placeholder, yes, that would totally make sense.

for sure im looking to get this week a 4790k and another gtx970 for sli.  with that said my experience shown i haven't really hand many problems with everyday use.  the only time i find a issue is when i am doing cpu intensive tasks for example i have been streaming on youtube and i was using OBS and omg my cpu usage maxed out poor little pentium bu you know for being a dual core chip it really kicks ass i have it overclocked at 4.5ghz and it just keeps going.

you can get a keyboard and mouse combo for 15$, and windows is only 15$ if you get it from reddit. And a 750ti does slightly better than ps4 in the witcher 3 and GTA V, but those were the only games I saw benchmarked. Last time I heard, a 1TB PS4 was from 450 to 500$

Can't really call a $400 PC a "console killer" because both consoles are $350.

Playstation 4 easily, especially with the great game bundles they're coming with. In the US you can get one shipped from newegg for $358 with both Arkham Knight and Destiny. Unless you're into PC only games like Minecraft, LOL, or WOW, the PS4 is unbeatable at that price point.

Well actually the country I live in (Bangladesh) doesn't give a shit about piracy. There are shops at nearly every street selling pirated movies, softwares, games etc in disk as internet is also not very fast. And each disk costs less than a dollar. I know piracy is frowned upon is this community, but we don't have any other choice as the min wage here is about $100 a month. Also most people don't even have credit cards, let alone international credit.

At the $400 price point, I'd get a PS4.

sell your old 970, get a R9 390X for the money you get from your old 970 and the money you were going to put into the second 970
