Its my only pc ( use it for streaming and recording )

i got barely got my laptop working Dx to make this post.

I have a PC that was working fine and decided to clean my pc case and hardware. (was allot dust in it) and replace one of my fans for the eisberg cooler due to it was making bad noise

Pc is nice and clean and added everything carefully back and decide to boot it back up. nothing. removed one of the ram cards and it worked so i thought let me add the other one back in just to make sure it broken or not. and didnt work anymore. removed it again and now nothing boots up :/

Also tried to reset cmos dont know if it worked or not did it step by step through the manual. I really dont know what happened

What more i did:

Removed everything to see if it will boot to bios.

added and removed parts fro example gpu, ram, hdd.

dont know if anyone ever had a similar issue ive been checking anything through the manual but i am completely lost now T_T

Specs:

Asus Sabertooth z77

I7-3770K OC to 4.2GHz

G.Skill 16 gb ddr3 1866mhz

CoolerMaster 240l Eisberg

GTX 780 3GB

Hope anyone could help me out, Appreciate it tho!

I don't really know too much about this kind of stuff, and can't relate to your sichuation too well, but all i can say is you should not have put the ram back in if it booted without it! Your RAM killed your board...Sorry to say it. And be careful that it didn't take anything else out with it! if it did, those parts could potentallt kill or damage the next motherbord they get put in. Hopfuly somone else can give more cheerful advice then thise. Good luck!

Might want to debug each part one by one

any tips on ow to debug them?

  • You're gonna need to get your hands on another working pc,that is what I would have done
  • Test each suspicious part one by one

I have an Asus Maximus V Formula with 4 sticks of ram. I do have one tip for you. If you get it up and running and it wont boot with the 4th stick, clean the contacts (blow on them) and change the pysical order they are in. Seemed to help me when my ram decided to be crabby one day.

Thanks for the tip! never thought that could help but i will try it out!

Try the following:

  1. Put in the RAM stick that worked before
  2. unplug the PSU from the wall
  3. hold the On Button for at least 20 sec

Thanks for the tips ill try them out!

Thanks for the tips! sad thing is i dont have a second computer to test it on.

@RuschGaming Mine stopped booting one day and it had a code 55 on the LCD (bad ram). I took one out and it booted, put back in and no boot ! I wanted my full 32gb so I cleaned the contacts and still no boot. Got frustrated and just switched them around to test whether it was ram or a ram slot. That worked and all 4 functioned fine. My guess is thermal expansion rubbed one contact and made a bad connection and moving them puts everything in a different point of contact between the ram contacts and slot contacts.

No offense, but GOD do I hate the shrouds on the sabertooth, cleaning that thing must be a pain !

Also if you get it working and need to talk shop, I have the 3770k too :)

no, blow on them first, then try it.

Be careful when blowing, if you get any moisture on the parts (Saliva) it could potentially damage them further.

If you google your motherbord error codes, you can take parts out one by one and it will give you beeps and tell you if it is posting or not, you can use that to troubleshoot your bord. If you need more info, feel free to ask...and remeber google is your friend!

Oh and, if you notice any major dust, some moistureless compressed air comes in handy.
