Are you going to do any content creation?(photo editing, video editing etc)

If not then go with an i5 and water cooling a system just for looks is a bad idea just get an effective air cooler like the hyper 212 evo

get a better gpu with the money saved from i5, a 390 is a good choice.

you can buy cheaper windows product keys on g2a.com or r/microsoftsoftwareswap

Why change the case? I think it look great!

Why change the mobo? I like the colour and it have everything I need plus, I saved up so I'm able to afford them.

Why get rid of the 220x? What's wrong with trying to prolong my cpu life by keeping it cooler & having it run faster with the lower temps???

I got the 960 long ago, I don't see anything wrong with it as the only thing i do on my pc is play dota 2 and run multiple VSTs with ableton and fl studio.

Sell the 960 and get a better GPU

Getting that fancy water cooler will not really pro long the life of the PC.

You have a great build with a very low end GPU yet r basing ur motherboard choice on looks.

no no.. whats your budget.

what that budget tho?

Maybe you should tell us your budget and let someone else have a crack at it? :)

Around 1800 USD!

I do some photo/video editing for song cover art and audio reactor. I went with the I7 because based on research I saw people saying that opening multiple layers off VSTs and plugins is very cpu intensive, is it true tho? I use ableton and fl studio most of the time. After effects for videos.

I already got the 960 quite some time ago from galax as I really don't do anything gpu intense, for games I only play dota 2!

Why not? Isn't heat the number 1 killer?!

I went with the 960 at that time because the only game I play is dota 2.. So I went with a better cpu instead of a better gpu

No that i7 will be fine with a stock cooler if u dont OC it. Unless ur planning to keep it 12 years or something.

I planned this build with the aesthetic in mind. This is neither a "budget" or "gaming" build.
