Hi everyone.

I've been using my gigabyte m8000x for years (like 6 or 7 in a row), but now it starts disconnecting sometimes, pointer is not as accurate as I want it to be.

So I managed to start looking for a new mice.

Would there be any suggestions? From personal experience, 1+ year of use.

No tight budget, but don't really want to spend more than $50-65 on such device.

And yeah, it's Australia ;)

Thanks.

I don't know if the price would be different for you in Australia, but I highly recommend the G502. I got it for $50 on Amazon 3 months ago and I have no regrets.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

Problem with the "1+ year" thing - many mice don't last that long nor do they stay on the market for that long...

Anyways, what grip do you use and how big are your hands?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

This is not true at all.

My Logitech MX518 is still working great and I think I've had it for almost ten years.

Umm....

I said "many mice these days do not last one year." Guess what. You mouse, as you stated, is ten years old. They were made better then.

Actually you didn't say these days, but I get your point. They don't make them as they used to.

My G400 is still working great and I've had it for four years now. I read some reviews that the cable broke after a year and there were some other issues, but I've had absolutely no problems at all. I don't even understand how people keep breaking their mice. Sure if your cable gets stuck somewhere and you keep tugging on it or something, it might break.

My mom has been using a G400 since release day that I got her as a gift. Still works despite having never been used on a real mousepad (aka, a piece of wood).

Nowadays, it's very easy to break mice. They have cheap microswitches. The sensors (especially the ones with low liftoff distance like the Razer Deathadder) get screwy. Double-click issues are common.

I'd buy another G400 in a heartbeat before buying 90% of mice these days.

I have a G303 and I love it! The grip is prefect and the travel is really nice.

Now that I started googling more about the G400, I couldn't find it from my local shops. I think it might already be discontinued. Damn, I really should've bought two. I don't think Logitech will ever release a new mouse that is exactly like these two.

If I stop using computers in a year or later, I'll totally blame Logitech. Because I absolutely hate modern gaming mice.

The G400s is as close as it gets and apparently it has issues with smoothing :/ But you can buy them on Amazon brand new... for like $120....

It's too bad the G400s is ugly as balls. And I bet it's really not the same as the G400, at all. There could be something different with the internals.

That's the problem with gaming mice; they put the word "gaming" on the product, add bright LED's, diminish the build quality and raise the prices. Of course there might be gaming mice that are built with better components, but they usually are way too expensive. At least if you remember that a while ago you could get the same and sometimes better build quality for at least half the price..

What a sad world we live in.

RIP good mice 2004-2011

Well, the obvious one people may recommend is the Razer Deathadder, but honestly, the Zowie FK2 and Mionix Castor are around the same price and are pretty damn good mice.

Zowie is driverless, so zero input lag and basically perfect sensor quality. The Castor is a little more customizable at the cost of say, 8-10 ms of input lag, but I do not know if that's with the software running or not. Regardless, DPI button switch just below the mouse wheel, rgb lighting, great sensor and shape, all around I'd say that's the best mouse for the money.

What games do you play mainly? Or do you just like to dabble in different types of games?

Sry for not posting for so long.

I play almost everything: from fps (cs go, quake 3), up to rpg (fallout, skyrim).

I'm a bit frustrated in my current mouse's sensor (not smooth and sharp enough, even with any type of mousepad), so the main thing I need is a good sensor. No need in macro buttons or other stuff like that.
